WHO WE ARE
Bluebird Experience is a Wisconsin based community collaboration project. Our goal is to show up every spring to help create and maintain a positive habitat for Eastern Bluebirds and other native songbirds.
By showing up for the last 15 years, we have created 8 bluebird trails throughout Western Wisconsin and now in our 15th year we have expanded our efforts to Frankfort, Kentucky. All of our trails share reproductive data with Cornell Lab of Ornithology’s NestWatch in order to support their efforts in scientific studies of bird conservation.
WHY BLUEBIRDS?
Bluebirds and other cavity nesting songbirds need our help due to habitat destruction and nonnative predators like House Sparrows and European Starlings. Songbird populations have been recently rising due to conservation projects like Bluebird Experience. However, this is now causing songbirds to depend on human aid. We can help by creating a consistent and sustainable habitat for our birds. What we do at Bluebird Experience is create nest box trails for songbirds to safely return to year after year.
